Things To Know

Broadband Availability At Your Address
Digital Island broadband may not be available at every address. Availability depends on factors such as network coverage, capacity, and the type of installation required.

For some addresses, we may need to complete additional checks before confirming service availability. In certain cases, such as fibre or rural installations, we can only confirm availability after the installation has been completed and the connection has been tested.
We’ll let you know as soon as we can confirm service at your address.
Power Outages, Modems and Install

Power Outages and Calling 111

Fibre broadband and any landline services connected through it will not work during a power outage unless you have a backup power source. This may affect devices such as cordless phones, medical alarms, and other equipment connected to your broadband service.

To make sure you can contact 111 in an emergency, we recommend having an alternative option available, such as:
- A charged mobile phone
- A backup power solution (such as a UPS)

Modems

You are welcome to use your own modem, provided it is compatible with our service. However, we may not be able to provide technical support for third-party equipment, and performance may vary.

If you purchase a modem from Digital Island, additional charges may apply.

Fibre Installation

Fibre is installed by your local fibre company. Depending on your property's setup, installation may require one or more technician visits. Installation timeframes can vary, and in some cases additional work may be needed before your service can be activated.

We will guide you through the process and keep you informed every step of the way.

Choosing the Right Broadband for Your Business

The best broadband option depends on how your business uses the internet.

If your business relies on services such as video calls, cloud applications, large file transfers, or multiple users online at the same time, Fibre Broadband is often the best choice for speed and reliability.

If fibre isn't available at your location, or you need a service up and running quickly, Wireless Broadband can be a great alternative.

Not sure which option is right for you? Talk to the team at Digital Island, and we'll help you find the best solution for your business needs.

Unlimited Plans and Expected Speeds For Your Connection
Unlimited data plans are subject to our fair use policy. Maximum speeds vary depending on factors including your equipment, local network, and destination.

Our advertised speeds are informed by the Commerce Commission's independent broadband monitoring reports and represent the typical speeds experienced by customers in real-world conditions.
